I assist clients in reaching their goals for optimum health. Individual sessions often incorporate yoga therapies, ancient Chinese medicine practices, and nutritional support.
I work with local clients in my offices in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara and long-distance clients via Skype. Schedule a consultation with me.
The majority of my time with yoga clients is done in private one-on-one sessions or semi-private small group classes, which are specialized to meet your specific needs.
I blend Yoga therapeutics, Vinyasa Yoga, body psychology, Eastern energy techniques, Western physical assessment tests, and core stabilization exercises in our sessions. I teach with the intention of helping to empower students to find their source of wellbeing through their own physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual awareness.
Through the natural, artistic fluidity of breath-synchronized movements and thoughtful variations and progressions, we awaken the body’s innate intelligence. We work to open the body in a compassionate and gentle manner, achieving deep transformation and rediscovered potential.
The ancient Chinese believed that a universal life energy called Chi or Qi is present in every living creature, and that this energy circulates through the body along specific pathways called meridians. As long as energy flows freely throughout the meridians, health is maintained, but once the flow is blocked, the system gets disrupted and pain and illness occur. Acupuncture works to re-program and restore normal bodily functions by stimulating certain points on the meridians in order to free up Qi energy.
Chinese Medicine emphasizes a holistic approach to treatment. I have several ways that I treat clients using acupuncture meridian systems:
Many practices can awaken deeper states of consciousness, but a strong and vital body is necessary to experience those states. For that, we have to “keep the temple clean.” To enhance your health you may need a cleanse designed specifically for you, or nutrients that you’re simply not getting or assimilating well.
As a certified nutritionist, I use laboratory tests when needed as well as Nutrition Response Testing (NRT), which is a non-invasive approach to analyzing your body’s neurological reflexes. These tests help to determine the exact nutrients you need to supplement your diet.
By testing the NRT reflexes, along with KHE meridian theory reflexes, I monitor your body at each visit to identify what your body needs and how well we’re meeting those needs. From there I design a program to help you handle what we find in our analysis of your body’s condition. To support your healing process I provide specific recommendations for nutritional supplements and food choices, and I create personalized Bach flower remedies for emotional support.
Our bodies have the full potential to repair themselves when given the correct support, and I’m here to help you with that.
